This movie was the best drama I have seen in a long time! Everybody is aware when she goes missing, and a few days later her dead body is found. He wraps the body up, puts it in a canoe, ties a heavy cenderblock to it to weigh it down, and sets it out to sink in the lake. He pulls out a knife and threatens to slit her throat. She tells him no, and he keeps getting more and more aggressive. He drives her to a field, and tells her to get out of the car and to "just trust him." He takes her to a nearby lake, and tries to kiss her. She tries to leave, and he offers to take her home. She tells him she wants to stay friends, though, so one night he invites her over to his house to give him a haircut. She tries to, and always ends up taking him back. I remember feeling every emotion that Stacy (Cameron) felt, even though I hadnt experienced what she did. Her friends start seeing her telltale bruises and advise her to end it. When I saw the 1996 version with Fred Savage and Candace Cameron, I remember being invested in it all the way through. Bobby is getting more and more aggressive because his father left his family. This continues to happen over and over again. He then apologizes and tells her he loves her. His wrestling coach sees her on the floor crying and asks what happened. He gets so angry with her that he grabs her and pushes her into a wall. She is hurt, and follows after him, begging for his forgiveness. Everything seems perfect, until one day Bobby calls her a slut. Her mother takes her advice and gets out of it. She eventually advises her mother to end her relationship. She thinks her life is perfect so far, except for the fact that her mother is in an abusive relationship.
